Friday, August 22nd at 9:30pm!
Aloha again, we are proud to announce that Jackie Rey’s will be hosting an upcoming wine tasting on Sunday, July 21st!
We will be featuring 4 Wines from our house Exploration Wine List, a three time winner of Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, all for only $12 per person!
Plus! A special treat, Alex Thropp, owner of the brand new wine store in Kailua Kona, Westside Wines will be joining us with his wine expertise from 30 years as a former restaurant wine sommelier, and 15 years of fine wines sales for the Kona coast. Come and soak in his expertise and of course, hear some funny stories!
This Sunday, the 21st of July, call ahead to reserve a table, 808-327-0209.
It’s time for Comedy again at Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill! We are super excited to host the hilarious and famous comedian Costaki Economopolous, this Thursday, July 11th at 9:15pm!
Quite unlike some of the other, lower-brow comedians we have hosted in the past, Economopolous focuses mainly on political comedy.
You might recognize him as a regular guest on the The Bob & Tom Show, and perhaps more notably from his former weekly broadcasts of a spot dubbed “The Economonologuectly.” He also performs a weekly segment parodying the National Football League called Quick Snaps on the radio with the DVE Morning Show.
So, if you enjoy witty comedy about clever topics, please call us soon at 808-327-0209 to reserve your table. Tickets are only $15 for call ahead seating. We will also be serving dinner until 9:00pm that evening, so feel free to come in for a late dinner before the show!
Invite all of your friends as well, but good luck pronouncing his name correctly!
We are always looking to improve the dining experience for our lovey and loyal guests at everyone’s favorite restaurant, Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill in Kailua Kona. Most recently this has included entirely new furniture!
Sleek new booths now line the open air windows. Classy looking tables and chairs are also spread throughout the dining room, and shiny new bar stools greet our guests at the bar, all helping to give the floor plan a new, more modern look.
But don’t worry, the old tables and chairs were not put to waste. Owners Paul and Angela Rey donated all of the old furniture to our local Habitat for Humanity! Plus, if you know anyone who has any sentimental value for their favorite old bar stool or high top table, you can simply send them to down to Habitat and they can help donate to a wonderful cause!
The response to the change has been nothing but positive, but we want you to come and try it out for yourselves! So, the next time you are on the Big Island of Hawaii, come and sit yourselves down on our new digs. The ambiance will put you in a good mood for some great food!
What a great night at Jackie Rey’s! We were fully booked for our Father’s Day wine tasting featuring four of our most bold, rich, and masculine red wines.
Guests also paired the flavorful wines with some of our amazing dishes off of our featured dinner menu including Pesto Crusted Rack of Lamb, Chicken and Shrimp Angel Hair Pasta, and our Mochiko Crusted Fresh Catch, a local Kailua Kona favorite.
Wine connoisseurs themselves, owners Paul and Angela Rey collected information about all of the wines. They presented the histories of the wineries, as well as their own personal connection to each, making it a deliciously fun and interesting evening.
As a three time winner of Wine Spectator’s Awards of Excellence, Jackie Rey’s has one of the best wine lists in Hawaii! These annual wine tasting allow us to share our collective knowledge with our friends and local Big Island Ohana.
Be sure to bring your guests to our next tasting! It is guaranteed to leave you with a warm feeling of Aloha, and maybe a purple smile!
Time sure flies here in Kailua Kona, Hawaii!
It seems like it was just yesterday that Jackie Rey’s opened their doors to the hungry people of the Big Island. Who would guess that it was a whole 8 years ago! A lot has changed in those years.
The building has been refurbished and is looking better than ever. Our amazing staff of the best and hardest working pros in town has only gotten better throughout the years. Our reviews on every travel site out there have been increasingly positive, and of course its because the food and drinks just keep getting more beautiful and delicious as time goes on!
Pretty good for a family restaurant!
With all of these improvements we knew that it was finally time to update our technology so we could keep up with the new high tech world! A new website, a mobile site, and an updated Loyalty Rewards System were just the start. Technology moves fast though, so we sped up!
The Ohana here at Jackie Rey’s is so excited and eager to have a shiny new Micros Computer System, replacing our amazingly reliable, but dinosaur of a system. We can’t wait because we know it will help us serve our clientele even better!
Our genius Tech Staff got us up and running Sunday night and has been working hard to get out all of the glitches from the system.
We know this new addition will help our already amazing staff to be even more fast and efficient! Come and test us out!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Holiday Easter Brunch. We were sold out this year and had a record breaking turn out!
For only $24.95 for the All You Can Eat Buffet, we are proud to serve the best Easter Brunch Buffet on the Big Island of Hawaii, and for the best deal. Plus we had $5 Bloody Mary’s all day long, made with our own special house made mix.
The food was a big hit, with Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Baked Ham and all of the fixings. Plus all of the kids, big and little, loved dipping cookies and fresh fruit into our chocolate fondue fountain!
The freshly prepared dishes on the buffet were hot and delicious as guests lined up for the ono grinds. And of course everyone was excited to see owner Paul Streiter at the end of the buffet table carving the Prime Rib himself!
We hope to see everyone next year for another fun-filled day of Easter Cheer at your favorite Kailua Kona Restaurant!
Here on the Big Island of Hawaii there are many community events that bring everyone together. But none on such a large scale as Paddling Season! Outrigger Canoe Racing is the State sport of Hawaii, and here on the Big Island we take it more seriously than anyone. Every spring, Paddling takes off all over the islands!
And this year at Jackie Rey’s, we got started early with our Jackie Rey’s Relay Race!
Fundraising is a big part of the Paddling Season, especially for the keiki (kids) programs, and every little bit helps. We felt priveledged to host a beneift race with all proceeds going to keiki programs on the Kona side of Big Island! And of course we catered the race with our ono (delicious) grinds from everyones favorite restaurant in Kailua Kona, Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill!
Thank you to all of those paddlers who braved the waves and participated in the relay race and to everyone who donated and helped to prepare for this fun event! And Mahalos to Susan Anderson for all of the photos!
We hope to see everyone out cheering for your community’s paddling team this season! And don’t forget to participate in all of those upcoming car washes, steak plate sales and other fundraising events to help support your local team and community. Mahalos!
Did you recognize those tasty crabcakes at the silent auction last night? If they seemed familiar it’s because they were prepared, hot on the spot by your favorite Kailua Kona restaurant, Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill!
We were proud to be serving straight from centerstage at Kona’s charming Aloha Theatre! Their annual silent auction was a big hit last night as Big Island locals bid on hundreds of generous donations from various community organizations, all to benefit Kona’s amazing and hard working community theater. Everyone was also treated to a number of famous Broadway numbers by the amazingly talented APAC players!
It was a night full of song and dance, delicious food and amazing prizes! We were happy to be involved in such a fun event for such an amazing organization! Thank you APAC! See you when the curtain rises!
Aloha everyone! It’s coming up on paddling season and at Jackie Rey’s we are getting started early!
We would like to invite you to join in our Jackie Rey’s relay paddling race on Saturday morning, January 19th! All proceeds will go to benefit the local keiki paddling programs! We will be catering after the race with delicious Jackie’s Rey’s cuisine, yum!
Give us a call to sign up for the race, or for any additional information, and we hope to see you there!
